What Happens to Your Body When You Start Exercising Regularly

Exercising is a way to stay fit and healthy. When you first start, you may feel things that you’ve never felt before. But there are so many benefits you might not know about.

During your first workout, you might feel very alert and energized but beware for the next day when you’ll probably suffer a case of Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness or DOMS for short. This soreness last for abbott 72 hours and if you regularly exercise those muscles, you’re less likely to experience DOMS again. Over the next few weeks, you’ll slowly begin to ramp up production of mitochondria in a process called mitochondrial biogenesis. Mitochondria are the part of your cells that convert carbs, fat, and protein into fuel that your muscles use to do their jobs (flex and contract). Studies show that by exercising, people can increase their mitochondria production by up to 50%! And with more mitochondria in your cells, you’ll start to feel more fit and you’ll see an increase in your endurance. After about a year of working out, your bones will be denser which reduces your risk of getting osteoporosis (a disease that increases the chances of your bones fracturing and it causes bone loss slowly but surely).

If you’re starting to exercise it’s important to be aware of things you might experience and how you might feel during and after a workout.
