Delivering The Truth

Telling the Truth

You should always do your best to tell the truth. Delivering the truth may be hard but you need to do it. But there may be times when you need to know how to do it, especially if you are delivering criticism.

Delivering criticism can be a very hard thing to do. You may hurt the person’s feelings, or your criticism may not get to them at all. So whenever you are delivering criticism you need to be delicate and considerate, you never want to hurt the person’s feelings when you are telling them what they are doing wrong. Sometimes you can’t always be straightforward, but you still need to get the point across. You also need to genuinely care about this person, and if they know that you care about them there is a higher chance that they will accept your criticism. Instead of telling the person that they failed, maybe use a different approach like saying, how could I have helped you better. You don’t want to attack the person and just start by saying you did bad. But if you are being indirect and that doesn’t work you will need to change your approach. After that you will need to become more direct and straightforward, but not to the point that you begin to hurt their feelings.

Telling the truth may be hard for some people especially when you are telling someone that they made mistakes. So that is what this was for to help you talk to this person without hurting their feelings or angering them.
